Plain and simple, this just isn’t the year for the Fish. For the first time
in a while, there are quite a few teams in the NL that are better than
average. Between the Mets, Phillies, Cubs and Brewers, they have formidable
competition to go up against. As much as I hate to admit it, I think the
Marlins are 5th best out of those five teams. The dissapointing part of it
all, is all five teams come from just two divisions. Maybe we can petition
MLB to move us to the NL West. No we better not, he’ll probably threaten to
contract us. It comes down to this, if the Marlins were serious about making
a run at the playoffs and World Series, they would have made a deal or two
before the trade deadline. They didn’t. Fillet them, lightly grill them, and
squirt a bit of lemon juice on them. They’re done.

With the number of games they have remaining against the two teams ahead of them…I’m not counting them out yet. The Fish are headed for the playoffs, he’s right…they control their destiny and I think they’ll make the most of it!

The Marlins season is slip, slip, slipping away. The bullpen isn’t able to save them and, in fact, may be the death of them. The Marlins need to decide how long they want to play this fall, suck it up, and play a full 9 innings.
